Speedmentoring

Following the very positive feedback from previous events, we are pleased to offer another Speedmentoring Session for PhD students.

This session provides a unique opportunity to engage directly with leading experts from both academia and industry. Participants will be able to book short, focused meetings to discuss their research, recent developments in the field, or broader career-related questions.

The Speedmentoring Session will take place on Monday, September 28, 2026, and requires prior registration. Please note that the number of available slots is limited and exclusively reserved for participating PhD students. We will make every effort to distribute the slots fairly among all registered participants.

Viktoria Pauw (LRZ)
Viktoria Pauw

Viktoria Pauw is Team Lead of the Environmental Computing group at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in Garching near Munich. With a background in physics and computer science from LMU Munich, she works at the intersection of computational science, data analysis, and environmental computing. She has led and contributed to multiple research projects, mentors students, and is active in international conference and workshop organization. In 2020, she received the Laser and Particle Beams Young Scientist Prize.

Prof. Dr. Michael Seufert (Univ. Augsburg)
Dr. Michael Seufert

Michael Seufert is a Full Professor at the University of Augsburg, Germany, heading the Chair of Networked Systems and Communication Networks. He received the Bachelor’s degree (2018) in Economathematics and the Diploma (2011), PhD (2017), and Habilitation (2023) degrees in Computer Science from the University of Würzburg, Germany, and holds the First State Examination degree (2011) in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Education for teaching in secondary schools. His research focuses on user-centric communication networks, including QoE of Internet applications, AI/ML for QoE-aware network management, as well as group-based communications.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Kassler (TH Deggendorf)
Dr. Andreas Kassler

Andreas J. Kassler is Professor of Computer Science at Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Germany (since 2023) and Karlstads Universitet, Karlstad, Sweden (since 2005). From 2003 to 2004, Dr. Andreas J. Kassler was Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. At Degegndorf, he is leading the Intelligent Network and Systems Lab. He maintains an active research program in the fields of networking and cloud computing with main research focus on Software Defined Networking, Future Internet, Datacenter Networking, and Quality of Service.

Dr. Michael Jarschel (NVIDIA)
Dr. Michael Jarschel

Dr. Michael Jarschel completed his doctorate at the University of Würzburg (Chair of Computer Science III - Communication Networks), working on software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), and Quality of Experience (QoE). Over the course of his career across research, academia, and industry, he served as a Senior Research Engineer at Nokia Technology & Innovation and Nokia Bell Labs, later became a Professor of Communication Networks and Cybersecurity at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) in 2021, and has since transitioned to the private sector as a Senior Performance Analysis Engineer at NVIDIA, where he works on optimizing the performance of AI datacenter fabrics.
